The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The audience was convinced that Jaime Pardo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sorin Deliman was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 80 minutes into the match, Jaime Pardo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sorin Deliman. Santul FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jaime Pardo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. After having played for 83 minutes, Hector Covarrubias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paraguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hector Covarrubias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Santul FC defense, Hector Covarrubias kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sorin Deliman. The Santul FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sorin Deliman should have stopped the shot. Xavier Zoido charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Xavier Zoido the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 94 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Xavier Zoido. Thanks to some nice moves Maxim Lupoi could shoot a difficult shot in the 95th minute, which Jacobo Nores however easily saved by the left post. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Paraguay had played much better football throughout.
