The referee showed Võ Van Tai Em the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 9th match minute, Tan An was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Võ Van Tai Em to maneuver through the defense. When Nguyễn Duy came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Nguyen Gia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Duy couldn't finish the play. Nguyen Gia made a substitution. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nguyễn Bien made a kick off. In the 55th minute, Nguyễn Loc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lê Tinh made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Phạm Nhật Minh sent off a good shot on target. Nguyễn Duy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Tinh having to interfere. Nguyễn Tho charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Tho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 62 minutes into the game, one of Tan An:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 64 minutes, Nguyen Gia's Nguyễn Duy got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Lê Tinh. 69 minutes into the match, Tan An's goalkeeper Lê Tinh had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Phạm Nhật Minh. 71 minutes into the match, Tan An's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Duy came free, but Lê Tinh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Nguyen Gia's Nguyễn Loc sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lê Tinh narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nguyễn Nga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. With a little luck, Tan An's Lê Tinh got control of the ball when Phạm Nhật Minh tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Tan An's zone, Nguyễn Loc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lê Tinh came out of the goal and Nguyễn Loc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nguyễn Duc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Bien in the 94th minute of the match. Nguyen Gia's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
