Tan An's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Nguyễn Chi 18 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. When Đặng Hong fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Soc Trang's protests and gave Đặng Hong a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Tan An booed when Soc Trang was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Đặng Hong didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Soc Trang's zone, Nguyễn Bien stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Lan came out of the goal and Nguyễn Bien tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nguyễn Lan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nguyễn Bien went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. 30 minutes into the game, Trần Tuan Hoang was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tan An's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Soc Trang the free kick. Nguyễn Bien received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Nguyễn Lan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Nguyễn Bien got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nguyễn Chi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lê Tinh came out and tried to block the shot, but Nguyễn Chi slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 38th minute. After having played for 41 minutes, Nguyễn Phu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tan An's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Phu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nguyễn Phong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Lê Tinh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
Tan An's Lê Tinh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Phong in the 52nd minute of play. The supporters of Tan An booed when Soc Trang was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Nhật Minh didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Trần Tuan Hoang's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nguyễn Lan was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Nguyễn Bien received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Soc Trang's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Phong was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lê Tinh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nguyễn Phong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Trần Tuan Hoang was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 84 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Tan An's Trần Tuan Hoang got a free kick in the 85th minute. In the 85th minute, Trần Minh-ha sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Tan An's Lê Tinh didn't even have to move. If Nguyễn Chi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Chi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lê Tinh was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. 92 minutes into the match, Soc Trang's goalkeeper Nguyễn Lan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nguyễn Phu. Nguyễn Phu scored 2-3 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nguyễn Lan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
