In the 33rdth minute of the game Nguyễn Duy who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Soc Trang's Nguyễn Lan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Đặng Hong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Nguyễn Duc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With 37 minutes on the clock, Phạm Dung commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Nguyen Gia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 36th minute. Penalty! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

With a little luck, Nguyen Gia's Nguyễn Duc got control of the ball when Nguyễn Phong tried to sneak it across the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Phạm Nhật Minh had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nguyễn Lan. Soc Trang's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Phạm Nhật Minh was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Phạm Nhật Minh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Lan having to interfere. The Nguyen Gia supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Soc Trang's performance. The match ended with a win for Soc Trang.
