After 7th play minutes Lê Hong Minh shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Lý Tuyet and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 10th minute, Nguyễn Tu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Huỳnh Anh Hung was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 12th minute, Nguyễn Tu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Hanoi booed when TsDC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vương Cadeo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute, Nguyễn Thuy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nguyễn Tu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Huỳnh Anh Hung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the game, Hoàng Quang Thanh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. TsDC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hanoi the free kick. Hoàng Quang Thanh hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Phạm Tinh took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lý Tuyet. Hanoi's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of TsDC booed when Hanoi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bùi Nhật Minh didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 31 played minutes TsDC got a freekick which was hit by Hồ Thai. When Hoàng Quang Thanh was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 34 minutes had been played. Hoàng Quang Thanh kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Nguyễn Tu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Huỳnh Anh Hung having to interfere. Vũ Thai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lý Tuyet having to interfere. Huỳnh Anh Hung stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nguyễn Thuy's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. Lý Tuyet made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vũ Thai in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nguyễn Thuy was the one to do the kick off. Lê Hong Minh's late challenge caught a Hanoi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lê Hong Minh helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Hanoi booed when TsDC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lê Hong Minh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hanoi's Lê Cuc shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 53rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Huỳnh Anh Hung but with some difficulty. After 54 minutes of play, TsDC's Vũ Thai made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lý Tuyet was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nguyễn Tu struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Huỳnh Anh Hung didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hanoi. Nguyễn Tus short, quick shot in the 59thth minute got Huỳnh Anh Hung to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Huỳnh Anh Hung made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Thuy in the 65th minute of play. After 69 minutes, Vương Cadeo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the TsDC and the Hanoi players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 69 played minutes TsDC got a freekick which was hit by Vương Cadeo. In the 71st minute Hanoi were awarded a corner. Lê Cuc went to the cornerflag to take it. Huỳnh Anh Hung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Thuy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vũ Thai recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 77 played minutes Hanoi got a freekick which was hit by Bùi Nhật Minh. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Thuy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Huỳnh Anh Hung was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Nguyễn Tu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Huỳnh Anh Hung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, TsDC's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Thuy came free, but Huỳnh Anh Hung reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
