Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Nguyễn Xuan took the kick off in the first half of the match. With an all-out effort, Binh Phuoc's Trần Nam threw himself towards the right post 6 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nguyễn Xuan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 8th minute of the match Trần Hieu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but La Loc showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Trần Nam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Xuan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bùi Quang in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Trần Nam saved VietNam from getting behind. Văn Bien recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 27 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Liem cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. La Loc was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Nguyễn Liem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Nguyễn Liem put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of La Loc. Ngô Tu hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match.
Nguyễn Liem's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but La Loc read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th match minute, VietNam was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lê Loc to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the VietNam defense, Mai Thanh Bình kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Trần Nam. The VietNam fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Trần Nam should have stopped the shot. Nguyễn Liem's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but La Loc read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Nguyễn Xuan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nguyễn Xuan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Đặng Hoa fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VietNam's protests and gave Đặng Hoa a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Binh Phuoc booed when VietNam was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Đặng Hoa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Phuoc took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for La Loc. Binh Phuoc's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Mai Thanh Bình blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Trần Nam having to make a save. Nguyễn Xuan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute, Nguyễn Xuan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of La Loc. The goal made the score 1-3. If Mai Thanh Bình had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
