Phạm Chung made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Lê Hanh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Phạm Chung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Nguyễn Tho made a precise shot to the right of Phạm Chung. Vinh Long's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Huỳnh Phuc was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 40th minute. Vinh Long's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Phạm Chung didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lê Hanh went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Huỳnh Phuc was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Vũ Chi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Trần Nga was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Trần Nga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vũ Chi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
