Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Huỳnh Phuc kicked off to start the match. Mai Bien hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Phạm Chung saved Vinh Long from getting behind. 8 minutes into the match, Vinh Long's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh came free, but Phạm Chung reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ngô Viet's late challenge caught a Vinh Long's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ngô Viet helped the player get up and apologised. In the 9th minute, Ngô Viet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Vinh Long's Huỳnh Phuc in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Việt Nam's goalie prevented a goal. In the 26th minute Vũ Nam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phạm Chung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mai Bien kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. A collision led to Việt Nam getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Ngô Viet hit a great ball. Việt Nam's Nguyễn Lam proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Việt Nam from getting a goal against them. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phạm Chung having to interfere. Huỳnh Phuc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Lam having to interfere. Phạm Chung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Vũ Nam put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Phạm Chung. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
The wind increased when Vũ Nam made the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, Trần Hoai mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vinh Long and the Việt Nam players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Việt Nam booed when Vinh Long was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Hoai didn't get a good kick on the ball. Phạm Chung made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Hoa in the 53rd minute of play. In the 57th minute, Vũ Chi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Việt Nam's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Phạm Chung breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nguyễn Lam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vũ Chi in the 63rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Mai Bien managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vinh Long's supporters rose to their feet, but Mai Bien was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Lam breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 69 minutes into the match, Việt Nam's goal looked a bit too open when Vũ Chi came free, but Nguyễn Lam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 83rdth minute of the game Vũ Nam who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vinh Long's Phạm Chung was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Hoàng Thi Ngoc fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vinh Long's protests and gave Hoàng Thi Ngoc a yellow card for diving instead. Hoàng Thi Ngoc hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Vũ Chi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Nguyễn Lam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 94 minutes of play, Vinh Long's Vũ Chi made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nguyễn Lam was left in no man's land by his defense there! The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Việt Nam walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
