The audience was convinced that Nghiêm Duy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lê Hong was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Nguyễn Hong could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Nguyễn Minh made a huge save. Lê Hong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nghiêm Duy, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Ho in the 40th minute of play forced Cheo Reo's goalkeeper Lê Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lê Hong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nghiêm Duy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Nghiêm Duy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the game, Chung Phuc was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ben Tre's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cheo Reo the free kick. The supporters of Cheo Reo booed when Ben Tre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chung Phuc didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Cheo Reo getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Nguyễn Than hit a great ball. Nguyễn Nguyet struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nghiêm Duy to strike the kick off in the second half. Nguyễn Hong's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nguyễn Minh read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, Cheo Reo's Nguyễn Teo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nguyễn Minh narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Trần Van Tai Em's late challenge caught a Ben Tre's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Trần Van Tai Em helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ben Tre booed when Cheo Reo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Van Tai Em didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cheo Reo's Lê Hong proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Cheo Reo from getting a goal against them. Hoàng Nhật Minh hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Trần Van Tai Em was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 77th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 78 played minutes Ben Tre got a freekick which was hit by Chung Phuc. Nguyễn Teo kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Nguyễn Teo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cheo Reo's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Teo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Minh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Cheo Reo's zone, Nghiêm Duy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lê Hong came out of the goal and Nghiêm Duy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 88 minutes into the game, Vũ Dung was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cheo Reo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ben Tre the free kick. A collision led to Cheo Reo getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Vũ Dung hit a great ball. Lê Hong made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Nguyễn Ho sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Hong in the 93rd minute of play forced Ben Tre's goalkeeper Nguyễn Minh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nghiêm Duy in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lê Hong prevented the ball from getting in the gole. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ben Tre players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Cheo Reo.
