After 9 minutes of play, Ben Tre's Nguyễn Ho made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lâm Tho was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nghiêm Duy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Tấn Dũng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Minh having to interfere. Nguyễn Minh made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nguyễn Tấn Dũng in the 33rd minute. If Nguyễn Ho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Nguyễn Ho fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hue's protests and gave Nguyễn Ho a yellow card for diving instead. In the 57th match minute, Hue was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Ho to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Nguyet's shot from long distance in the 69th minute was not bad at all, but Hue's Lâm Tho knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. 74 minutes into the match, Ben Tre's goal looked a bit too open when Phạm Than came free, but Nguyễn Minh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 76 minutes Ben Tre's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Phan Chung who took care of the corner kick. 78 minutes into the match, Hue's goalkeeper Lâm Tho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nghiêm Duy. Trần Tuan kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Phan Chung was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 81st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Hieu in the 82nd minute of play forced Ben Tre's goalkeeper Nguyễn Minh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 85 minutes in the game, Nghiêm Duy fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Lâm Tho having to interfere. Nguyễn Minh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Hieu in the 94th minute of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
