Trần Van Tai Em made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Nga in the 19th minute of play. Phạm Cadeo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Phan Bien having to make a save. Trần Hoang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Phạm Cadeo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 44 minutes in the game, Trần Hoang fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Phan Bien having to interfere. If Phạm Cadeo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After 53 played minutes, viet nam's Trần Tuan Hoang shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Phan Bien came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in viet nam reached it. In the 56th minute Trần Hoang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phan Bien saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Nguyễn Nga came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Khanh Hoa fans jumped to their feet. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trần Hoang in the 68th minute of play forced Khanh Hoa's goalkeeper Phan Bien to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 70 in the game by Dương Phu from a close distance when the talented Trần Van Tai Em managed to make a qualified save. viet nam's players were relieved. In the 71st match minute, viet nam was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lê Hanh to maneuver through the defense. Dương Phu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Van Tai Em having to interfere. viet nam's Trần Van Tai Em played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Nga in the 79th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Khanh Hoa's Dương Phu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Trần Van Tai Em. Trần Van Tai Em yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. Dương Phu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Trần Van Tai Em made a huge save. Ngô Thuy hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The Khanh Hoa players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented viet nam from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
