Nguyễn Anh Hung made an important save on a dangerous shot by Phan Minh-ha in the 3rd minute. Dong Son's Nguyễn Anh Hung played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phan Xuan in the 4th minute of play. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Trần Loc to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Binh Dinh booed when Dong Son was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Van Tai Em didn't get a good kick on the ball. Phan Minh-ha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Anh Hung having to interfere. During the 59th minute of the match Huỳnh Cadeo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Huỳnh Cadeo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 59th minute, Huỳnh Cadeo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 61st minute Đặng Chung shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Anh Hung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 65th minute, Dong Son's Bùi Viet ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nguyễn Huỳnh. Nguyễn Huỳnh yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Dong Son's Bùi Viet got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Đặng Chung hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. With his leg Nguyễn Huỳnh managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when Dong Son's Bùi Viet fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Phạm Nam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bùi Viet could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Nguyễn Huỳnh made a huge save. Phan Minh-ha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nguyễn Anh Hung having to make a save. When Trần Loc fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dong Son's protests and gave Trần Loc a yellow card for diving instead. Trần Loc hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Nguyễn Van Tai Em received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Nguyễn Huỳnh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Binh Dinh's Nguyễn Huỳnh got control of the ball when Bùi Viet tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 95th minute, Phan Minh-ha ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nguyễn Anh Hung was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Despite being the better team, Dong Son failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
