Nguyễn Lien's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Trần Viet read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Nguyễn Lien managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quang Ngai's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Lien was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Trần Viet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Huỳnh Quang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Phạm Tan made a huge save. 68 minutes into the match, Quang Ngai's Hoàng Mai sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Phạm Tan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Quang Ngai's Phạm Tan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hoàng Mai in the 96th minute of play. The Quang Ngai supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Quang Ngai's performance. The match ended with a win for Quang Ngai.
