Nguyễn Hung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phan Thi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of PleiKu booed when DinoFuji was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hồ Tấn Dũng didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd match minute, PleiKu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phan Thai to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Hung made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nguyễn Khoi in the 33rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Phan Thai during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of DinoFuji booed when PleiKu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. PleiKu's supporters rose to their feet, but Huỳnh Lien was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lê Nga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind PleiKu's goalkeeper Nguyễn Hung, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Huỳnh Lien to make the kick off. A collision led to DinoFuji getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Lê Dung hit a great ball. PleiKu's Phạm Cong Vinh got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hoàng Hong recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Huỳnh Lien kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lê Nga. That made the score 0-1 in the 55 minute of play. In the 62nd minute Nguyễn Khoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Hung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Huỳnh Bien kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. The supporters of PleiKu booed when DinoFuji was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Tinh didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 69th minute of the match Phạm Cong Vinh sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lê Nga skillfully saved the ball. During the 72nd minute of the match Phan Thai completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Phan Thai a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, PleiKu's Phan Thai got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Nguyễn Khoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Hung having to interfere. Hoàng Hongs short, quick shot in the 77thth minute got Lê Nga to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Hoàng Hong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Lê Nga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, DinoFuji's Lê Nga got control of the ball when Hoàng Hong tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, PleiKu's Huỳnh Bien got a free kick in the 89th minute. Nguyễn Hung showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Khoi in the 93rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Phan Thi managed to get in a good position for a shot. DinoFuji's supporters rose to their feet, but Phan Thi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Hung breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
