Lương Nghiêm-Minh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phạm Bien, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Hung Yen's goalkeeper Lương Nghiêm-Minh had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Phạm Bien. 23 minutes into the match, Hung Yen's Phạm Pham sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nghiêm Diem narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Phạm Bien came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the PADFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phạm Bien couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Phạm Bien during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nghiêm Diem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phạm Thien, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. When Nguyễn Hanh fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PADFC's protests and gave Nguyễn Hanh a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 38th minute of the game. One of PADFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hung Yen:s goal. In the 40th minute there was a penalty for Hung Yen. Phạm Van Tai Em stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Nghiêm Diem. 0-1. In the 43rd minute Phạm Pham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nghiêm Diem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46th minute, Phạm Pham got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 48 minutes, Phạm Pham mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hung Yen and the PADFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Hung Yen getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Phạm Pham hit a great ball. After the first half Hung Yen were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Nguyễn Lan made the kick off in the second half. Nguyễn Lan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Lương Nghiêm-Minh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 54th minute, Phạm Bien left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PADFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Phạm Bien recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 59th minute, Phạm Bien made a precise shot to the right of Lương Nghiêm-Minh. Hung Yen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Phạm Thien recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Đinh Thuy kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. In the 77th minute of the match, Phạm Pham got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nghiêm Diem was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The corner led to Hung Yen's Lý Hanh getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nguyễn Hieu Ngan during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 83rd minute, Nguyễn Hieu Ngan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lương Nghiêm-Minh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phạm Bien in the 84th minute of the match. Phạm Pham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Nghiêm Diem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hung Yen's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
