Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Lê Duc made the kick off which started today's match. After 3 played minutes Dong Nai got a freekick which was hit by Trần Hung. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lê Duc in the 5th minute of play forced Dong Nai's goalkeeper Nguyễn Phuoc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Phuoc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lê Duc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nguyễn Cong Vinh got free with Nguyễn Phuoc in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Dong Nai's Nguyễn Phuoc got control of the ball when Nguyễn Cong Vinh tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nguyễn Thai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Cong Vinh could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Nguyễn Phuoc made a huge save. Nguyễn Viet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 29 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Thai notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Tien Giang's Nguyễn Tho. Nguyễn Tho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 36 minutes, Huỳnh Binh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dong Nai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Huỳnh Binh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lê Duc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Trần Hoa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Phuoc having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Dong Nai's Lê Thanh got a free kick in the 41st minute. Lê Duc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 46th match minute, Tien Giang was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vũ Nguyet to maneuver through the defense. 47 minutes into the match, Dong Nai's Nguyễn Thai broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Nguyễn Thai made the kick off in the second half. Nguyễn Tho made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Huỳnh Binh sent off a good shot on target. Dong Nai made a substitution. Nguyễn Dung replaced Lê Thanh. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Cong Vinh in the 59th minute of play forced Dong Nai's goalkeeper Nguyễn Phuoc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Tien Giang's Nguyễn Tho got control of the ball when Huỳnh Binh tried to sneak it across the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Dong Nai's goal looked a bit too open when Lê Duc came free, but Nguyễn Phuoc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nguyễn Phuoc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lê Duc in the 75th minute of play. Nguyễn Cong Vinh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 79 played minutes Tien Giang got a freekick which was hit by Hoàng Tho. Nguyễn Thai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute, Nguyễn Thai got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nguyễn Tho made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Huỳnh Binh sent off a good shot on target. If Nguyễn Thai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Thai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Tho having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Dong Nai's zone, Hoàng Tho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Phuoc came out of the goal and Hoàng Tho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nguyễn Phuoc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Cong Vinh in the 96th minute of the match. The Tien Giang supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Dong Nai's performance. The match ended with a win for Dong Nai.
