Spectators: 38 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Mai Minh Phượng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Lan in the 6th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nguyễn Lan in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mai Minh Phượng saved Vinh Long from getting behind. If Nghiêm Khoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Skyblue's Lê Anh Hung played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nghiêm Khoi in the 29th minute of play. When Nguyễn Duc fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vinh Long's protests and gave Nguyễn Duc a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Vinh Long's Nguyễn Duc got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 38th minute, Nguyễn Duc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Phạm Mai came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Skyblue fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phạm Mai couldn't finish the play. Skyblue's Lê Anh Hung played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nghiêm Khoi in the 44th minute of play. Nguyễn Duc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Anh Hung having to interfere. The Skyblue players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Vinh Long were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nguyễn Lan was the one to do the kick off. Nghiêm Khoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Anh Hung having to interfere. 57 minutes into the match, Vinh Long's goal looked a bit too open when Phạm Mai came free, but Mai Minh Phượng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 59th minute of the match Lê Chuong sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mai Minh Phượng skillfully saved the ball. In the 61st minute, La Nghiêm-Minh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nguyễn Phuoc during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 63rd match minute, Vinh Long was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Phuoc to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Lan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Skyblue's Lê Anh Hung played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Duc in the 71st minute of play. A collision led to Skyblue getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Lê Loc hit a great ball. In the 77th minute, La Bay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nguyễn Duc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Anh Hung having to interfere. Nghiêm Khoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Anh Hung having to interfere. Lê Anh Hung made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Duc in the 86th minute of play. Lê Anh Hung came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Vinh Long's Nghiêm Khoi. But to his dismay, Nghiêm Khoi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Nghiêm Khoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Lê Anh Hung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute of the match Lê Tấn Dũng sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lê Anh Hung skillfully saved the ball. Vinh Long's La Nghiêm-Minh got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vinh Long's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
