Spectators: 37 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) 4 minutes into the game, La Bay was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Skyblue's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Long Tan the free kick. The supporters of Long Tan booed when Skyblue was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. La Bay didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 5th minute of the match Võ Hong Minh shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lê Anh Hung showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 6th minute, Lê Loc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Đỗ Phuoc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Long Tan's Huỳnh Hieu Ngan got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Skyblue's Trần Teo got a free kick in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Đỗ Phuoc in the 19th minute of play forced Skyblue's goalkeeper Lê Anh Hung to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Skyblue getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. La Bay hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Đỗ Phuoc managed to get in a good position for a shot. Long Tan's supporters rose to their feet, but Đỗ Phuoc was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lê Anh Hung breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 23rd minute Đỗ Phuoc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Anh Hung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th match minute, Skyblue was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by La Bay to maneuver through the defense. Đỗ Phuoc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Lê Anh Hung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lê Anh Hung made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Huỳnh Hieu Ngan sent off a good shot on target. After 33 played minutes Skyblue got a freekick which was hit by Trần Teo. Huỳnh Hieu Ngan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Anh Hung having to interfere. If Đỗ Phuoc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 44 in the game by Huỳnh Hieu Ngan from a close distance when the talented Lê Anh Hung managed to make a qualified save. Skyblue's players were relieved. Lê Anh Hung stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Huỳnh Hieu Ngan's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. After 45 minutes of play Skyblue's La Bay was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. La Bay hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Đỗ Phuoc made a kick off. Huỳnh Hieu Ngan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 57 played minutes Skyblue got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Lan. Huỳnh Hieu Ngan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lê Anh Hung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Đỗ Phuoc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Long Tan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0.
