The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Thi Ngoc's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nghiêm Cadeo was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nguyễn Ritchell to make the kick off. Nguyễn Dung hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. 54 minutes into the game, one of Mong Cai:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 56th minute there was a penalty for Bien Hoa. Nguyễn Thi stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Nghiêm Cadeo. 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Bien Hoa's zone, Liễu Tan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Lam came out of the goal and Liễu Tan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nghiêm Cadeo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Thi Ngoc, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 83rd match minute, Bien Hoa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trần Lan to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Thi Ngoc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nghiêm Cadeo having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Phạm Tong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Liễu Tans short, quick shot in the 91stth minute got Nguyễn Lam to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Nguyễn Cong Vinh came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Bien Hoa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Cong Vinh couldn't finish the play. Nghiêm Cadeo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Thi Ngoc in the 96th minute of the match. A collision led to Mong Cai getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Nguyễn Viet hit a great ball. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
