An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Phuoc in the 27th minute of play forced Choban FC's goalkeeper Nguyễn Chi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute Nguyễn Hung shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Chi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Huỳnh Cong Vinh was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Phuoc's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nguyễn Chi was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. 58 minutes into the match, Ducanh's Nguyễn Minh-ha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nguyễn Chi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Choban FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Trần Mai ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Trần Mai got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nguyễn Chi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 78th match minute, Choban FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Huỳnh Cong Vinh to maneuver through the defense. Huỳnh Cong Vinh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nguyễn Chi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Minh-ha in the 89th minute of play. Nguyễn Phuoc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Chi having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ducanh fans cheered their team off the field, for while Choban FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
