Phạm Hoai might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nguyễn Chi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Phạm Hoai came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Dien Bien Phu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phạm Hoai couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Trương Nam in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nguyễn Chi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Phạm Hoai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Nguyễn Chi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, Choban FC's goal looked a bit too open when Phạm Hoai came free, but Nguyễn Chi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Phạm Hoai left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dien Bien Phu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Nguyễn Tuan fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dien Bien Phu's protests and gave Nguyễn Tuan a yellow card for diving instead. Nguyễn Tuan kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. In the 47th minute, Nguyễn Dung left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Choban FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Phạm Hoai struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Nguyễn Chi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dien Bien Phu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trương Nam in the 58th minute of play forced Choban FC's goalkeeper Nguyễn Chi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Phạm Hoai could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Nguyễn Chi made a huge save. Choban FC's Huỳnh Cong Vinh got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Choban FC's Nguyễn Chi got control of the ball when Phạm Hoai tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Dien Bien Phu booed when Choban FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Lien didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th match minute, Choban FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Thi to maneuver through the defense. 78 minutes into the game, Phạm Hoai recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nguyễn Chi. Phạm Hoai showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. 82 minutes into the match, Dien Bien Phu's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Dung came free, but Trần Nghiêm-Minh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Phạm Hoai might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nguyễn Chi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Phạm Hoai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Chi having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Trương Nam got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 97 minutes into the game, one of Choban FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 99 minutes, Dien Bien Phu's Nguyễn Quang got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Nguyễn Chi.
