Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Nguyễn Minh started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Nguyễn Minh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 10 minutes, Nguyễn Nga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kontum's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Nga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nguyễn Hong Minh hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. 13 minutes into the match, Kontum's Trần Diem broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 15 minutes into the match, The Whales's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Minh came free, but Phạm Nhật Minh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th match minute, Kontum was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Duong to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Thanh Bình showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nghiêm Ho, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Kontum's zone, Nguyễn Thuyet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Thanh Bình came out of the goal and Nguyễn Thuyet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kontum were furious when Trần Diem was red carded, 23 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee gave The Whales a penalty, 25 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Lương Duong, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Kontum's Nguyễn Thanh Bình. 0-1. Nguyễn Nga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phạm Nhật Minh having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Nghiêm Ho made a precise shot to the right of Nguyễn Thanh Bình. Kontum's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Nguyễn Duong did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Phạm Nhật Minh 35 minutes into the match. Nghiêm Ho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Thanh Bình having to interfere. Nguyễn Hong Minh kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
If Nghiêm Ho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Kontum getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Nguyễn Duong hit a great ball. With a little luck, Kontum's Nguyễn Thanh Bình got control of the ball when Nghiêm Ho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nguyễn Thuyet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Nguyễn Thanh Bình tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Duong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Thuyet who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 89thth minute tested the skills of Nguyễn Thanh Bình when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Nghiêm Ho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Nguyễn Thanh Bình tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Whales's Nguyễn Thuyet got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Nguyễn Nga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Duong scored 2-4 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Phạm Nhật Minh, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
