Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) In the 5th minute, Nguyễn Thanh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 7 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Thanh cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Đoàn Mai was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Placido Paul had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 14th minute, Nguyễn Thanh got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Đoàn Mai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Triệu Anh Hung, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Huế's Placido Paul slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Đoàn Mai. That made the score 2-0 after 26 minutes of play. 30 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Lien was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Huế's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cao Bang Red Star the free kick. Nguyễn Lien kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Nguyễn Thanh kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Đoàn Mai. That made the score 3-0 in the 32 minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Huế's goal looked a bit too open when Tomás Sá came free, but Lê Binh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nguyễn Thanh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Đoàn Mai having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Huế's Nguyễn Thanh ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Đoàn Mai. Đoàn Mai yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Placido Paul to make the kick off. The supporters of Cao Bang Red Star booed when Huế was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Nghiêm-Minh didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute Tomás Sá shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Binh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 65 minutes of play, Huế's Triệu Anh Hung made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Đoàn Mai was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Cao Bang Red Star getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Đỗ Tuyet hit a great ball. Đoàn Mai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Thanh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cao Bang Red Star's Lê Dinh got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 74th match minute, Cao Bang Red Star was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Đỗ Tuyet to maneuver through the defense. When Trần Nghiêm-Minh fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Huế's protests and gave Trần Nghiêm-Minh a yellow card for diving instead. Lê Binh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomás Sá in the 90th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Timoteo Dimas got free with Lê Binh in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
