With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vernon Chegwyn in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rudy Seng saved Portreath from getting behind. Richie Rooney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudy Seng having to interfere. Ash Morley hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. If Shukrie Wah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vernon Chegwyn stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Richie Rooney came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Kidlington City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Richie Rooney couldn't finish the play. If Gage Pillai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 2-1 became the score in the 88th minute when Shukrie Wah elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Portreath's Rudy Seng proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Portreath from getting a goal against them. Portreath's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
