Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Steven Lim got the match started through his kick off. Rifqi Seah recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Houghton le Spring's Vincent Couzens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Houghton le Spring from getting a goal against them. 10 minutes into the match, Houghton le Spring's Marlon Forster sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Clive Chian narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Clive Chian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rufus Preston, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Rufus Preston received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Clive Chian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rifqi Seah's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Vincent Couzens skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 23 played minutes Steven Lim rounded Houghton le Spring's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Clive Chian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marlon Forster in the 27th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steven Lim in the 31st minute of play forced Houghton le Spring's goalkeeper Vincent Couzens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rifqi Seah's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vincent Couzens read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rifqi Seah got free with Vincent Couzens in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vincent Couzens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steven Lim in the 46th minute of play. If Steven Lim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marlon Forster was the one to do the kick off. If Rifqi Seah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes into the game, Steven Lim cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Vincent Couzens was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Westcliff on Sea's Steven Lim in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Houghton le Spring's goalie prevented a goal. Jeff Brookes's late challenge caught a Westcliff on Sea's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jeff Brookes helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Houghton le Spring fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 65th minute. Penalty! Marlon Forster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Clive Chian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rifqi Seah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Vincent Couzens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Steven Lim might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vincent Couzens. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Steven Lim ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steven Lim in the 87th minute of play forced Houghton le Spring's goalkeeper Vincent Couzens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91stth minute of the game Rifqi Seah who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Houghton le Spring's Vincent Couzens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 98th minute, Rifqi Seah left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Westcliff on Sea fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. When the referee ended the match the Westcliff on Sea players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
