Darren Ching kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Zack Chew acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 6th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ozzy Dearden. Jonathan Politiek hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. If Lee Tan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lee Tan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Kris Knight tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kris Knight showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amir Hoe, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Lee Tan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kris Knight having to make a save. In the 27th minute, Ebley United's Jordan Bensley seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jordan Bensley the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Ebley United protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jordan Bensley had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 27th minute, one of Ebley United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ebley United. 32 minutes into the game, Greg Harding was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ebley United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Exmouth the free kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amir Hoe in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kris Knight prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Amir Hoe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kris Knight having to interfere. Ebley United's Kris Knight played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amir Hoe in the 43rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Amir Hoe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Exmouth's supporters rose to their feet, but Amir Hoe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kris Knight breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Exmouth's Amir Hoe got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

A wasted opportunity for Exmouth. 72 minutes into the match, Ebley United's goalkeeper Kris Knight had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lee Tan. The audience was convinced that Amir Hoe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kris Knight was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. 90 minutes into the match, Ebley United's goal looked a bit too open when Amir Hoe came free, but Kris Knight reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Albert Hian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kris Knight made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amir Hoe in the 100th minute of play.
