Prime Chien-Kwan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 7 played minutes Great Staughton United got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Yip. In the 14th minute Jerry Ramachandran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prime Chien-Kwan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Dunchurch booed when Great Staughton United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shahron Choy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jerry Ramachandran scored 0-2 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Prime Chien-Kwan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jerry Dryburgh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shahron Choy, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. The supporters of Dunchurch booed when Great Staughton United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darryl Tuan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Faiz Swee fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerry Dryburgh having to interfere. If Darryl Tuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Darryl Tuan during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dunchurch's Shah Kang got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Great Staughton United players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Dunchurch were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Faiz Swee was the one to do the kick off. Faiz Swee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Jerry Dryburgh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Danial Hoe kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. In the 57th minute of the match Jerry Hsin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Prime Chien-Kwan showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jerry Ramachandran's late challenge caught a Great Staughton United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jerry Ramachandran helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Dunchurch's Hidayat Lee got a free kick in the 60th minute. If Darryl Tuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jerry Dryburgh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Faiz Swee in the 69th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aziz Hsi in the 74th minute of play forced Great Staughton United's goalkeeper Prime Chien-Kwan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Prime Chien-Kwan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aziz Hsi in the 75th minute of the match. In the 79th match minute, Dunchurch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hidayat Lee to maneuver through the defense. Jerry Dryburgh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexander Yip in the 81st minute of play. Faiz Swee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Jerry Dryburgh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lee Namasivayam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 88 minutes, Faiz Swee managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Great Staughton United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Faiz Swee was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Shahron Choy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Faiz Swee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Jerry Dryburgh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Great Staughton United manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Dunchurch to win.
