When Amirul Seng fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored NERGİZSPOR's protests and gave Amirul Seng a yellow card for diving instead. In the 2nd minute, one of NERGİZSPOR:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for NERGİZSPOR. In the 13th minute, Johnathan Locking left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rochdale FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Felix Lee hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Shyan in the 31st minute of play forced NERGİZSPOR's goalkeeper Tan Yang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joel Siong had several of the NERGİZSPOR's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 32 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 4-0 score and a disappointed Tan Yang as he didn't even see the shot coming. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zafran Seng in the 35th minute of play forced Rochdale FC's goalkeeper Sajeev Chew to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tan Yang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Shyan, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Tan Yang made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joel Siong in the 40th minute. After a defensive mix-up in NERGİZSPOR's zone, Albert Ning stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tan Yang came out of the goal and Albert Ning tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, NERGİZSPOR's Tan Yang got control of the ball when Azli Chai tried to sneak it across the goal line.

Rochdale FC's Joel Hee was substituted for Darryl Tuan. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Albert Ning in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tan Yang prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 77th minute, Joel Siong left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. NERGİZSPOR's Tan Yang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Siong in the 95th minute of play. Rochdale FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
