After a defensive mix-up in Goldthorpe's zone, Alif Ning stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lee Lee came out of the goal and Alif Ning tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alex Yang's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 33rdth minute, Azam Tuan skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Azam Tuan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sajeev Chan's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. In the 38th minute, Fairfield's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Alex Yang fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Sajeev Chan struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Azam Tuan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Goldthorpe. If Alex Yang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sajeev Chan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Azam Tuan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. After 45 minutes of play, Goldthorpe's Alex Yang made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Azam Tuan was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sajeev Chan made a kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Fairfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afiq Amin to maneuver through the defense. The corner led Goldthorpe's Gage Koh to fire away a dangerous shot which Azam Tuan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 57th minute Samuel Henderson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Azam Tuan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58th match minute, Fairfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afiq Amin to maneuver through the defense. Fairfield's Azam Tuan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sajeev Chan in the 62nd minute of play. Sajeev Chan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 64 played minutes Fairfield got a freekick which was hit by Aziz Shiong. After a defensive mix-up in Fairfield's zone, Alex Yang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Azam Tuan came out of the goal and Alex Yang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 67th minute, Alex Yang ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Azam Tuan was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Sajeev Chan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fairfield's Alif Ning got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fairfield's Azam Tuan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Yang in the 87th minute of play. Azam Tuan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sajeev Chan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rdth minute of the game Sajeev Chan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fairfield's Azam Tuan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sajeev Chan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Azam Tuan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Fairfield players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Goldthorpe.
