In the 9th match minute, Tampines Rovers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hafriz Tioe to maneuver through the defense. When Merlin Laycock came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Ashton-under-Lyne fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Merlin Laycock couldn't finish the play. Daniz Yang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Khai Soon in the 12th minute of play. Tampines Rovers FC's Daniz Yang proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Tampines Rovers FC from getting a goal against them. In the 22nd minute of the match, Merlin Laycock tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Daniz Yang saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Jerry Seng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wei Xuan Chuan having to interfere. Daniz Yang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Merlin Laycock in the 26th minute of the match. A collision led to Tampines Rovers FC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Hafriz Tioe hit a great ball. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tampines Rovers FC's goalkeeper Daniz Yang, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Daniz Yang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Merlin Laycock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the game, Ashton-under-Lyne's Ron Nagasaki nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Daniz Yang made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Jerry Seng managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tampines Rovers FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jerry Seng was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wei Xuan Chuan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 38th minute Merlin Laycock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniz Yang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lamar Hee kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Ashton-under-Lyne's Wong Dryburgh couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 41st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Tampines Rovers FC. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Merlin Laycock took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Daniz Yang to make any attempt to save it. Tampines Rovers FC's Daniz Yang proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Tampines Rovers FC from getting a goal against them. Ron Nagasaki came free with the goalkeeper in the 48th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Daniz Yang could save by the left post.

When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Merlin Laycock put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Daniz Yang. In the 58th match minute, Tampines Rovers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hafriz Tioe to maneuver through the defense. Merlin Laycock recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 62 minutes into the match, Tampines Rovers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mujahid Butcher came free, but Daniz Yang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute, Ron Nagasaki left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ashton-under-Lyne fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Jerry Seng hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Ron Nagasaki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniz Yang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Merlin Laycock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Tampines Rovers FC defense, Mujahid Butcher kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Daniz Yang. The Tampines Rovers FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daniz Yang should have stopped the shot. Daniz Yang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Khai Soon in the 78th minute of the match. In the 87th minute, Hafriz Tioe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Merlin Laycock in the 90th minute of play forced Tampines Rovers FC's goalkeeper Daniz Yang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91st minute Ron Nagasaki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniz Yang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jerry Seng hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Ashton-under-Lyne's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
