In the 7th minute, Alif Hock hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Khairul Ning missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 8 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Anil Soon right hand side. Afriz Yi-Sheng charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Afriz Yi-Sheng the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Amirul Devan took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anil Soon. Anil Soon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Zafran Hee charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zafran Hee the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Swadlincote City booed when Cowplain FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zafran Hee didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Cowplain FC's Hafriz Wenyong got control of the ball when Khairul Lam tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Cowplain FC's Darryl Politiek got a free kick in the 22nd minute. If Zafran Hee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zafran Hee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zafran Hee might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anil Soon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zafran Hee ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zafran Hee to make the kick off. When Cowplain FC's Zafran Hee in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 67th minute of the match Darryl Chan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hafriz Wenyong skillfully saved the ball. Amirul Devan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Anil Soon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 71 minutes, Amirul Devan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cowplain FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amirul Devan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hafriz Wenyong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerard Seng in the 74th minute of play. Shahiran Chian hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Zafran Hee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Anil Soon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 81 minutes in the game Shahiran Chian did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Gage Siang. In the 85th minute of the match Shahiran Chian sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hafriz Wenyong skillfully saved the ball. In the 93rd minute, Amirul Devan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anil Soon was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Cowplain FC played a much better game than Swadlincote City and deserved their victory. The Swadlincote City players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
