In the 6th minute Victor Teo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lamar Seng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zak Swee didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Victor Paine went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The audience was convinced that Azam Leng's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lamar Seng was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Victor Paine's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Zak Swee skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a defensive mix-up in Newmarket's zone, Azam Leng stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lamar Seng came out of the goal and Azam Leng tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sean Swee kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 26thth minute of the game Azam Leng who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Newmarket's Lamar Seng was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 30 minutes, Sajeev Leng mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newmarket and the Husbands Bosworth players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Newmarket getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Sajeev Leng hit a great ball. Azam Leng recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 32nd minute Azam Leng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lamar Seng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zafran Yip in the 35th minute of play forced Husbands Bosworth's goalkeeper Zak Swee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sajeev Leng could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Zak Swee made a huge save. Azam Leng sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Newmarket's Lamar Seng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Azam Leng in the 39th minute of play. Azam Leng sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zak Swee made an important save on a dangerous shot by Victor Paine in the 46th minute. After the first half Husbands Bosworth were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Azam Leng got free with Lamar Seng in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Husbands Bosworth's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Azam Leng in the 53rd minute. After taking down the ball on Husbands Bosworth's corner Azam Leng fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lamar Seng quite easily take care of the ball. Victor Teo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lamar Seng having to make a save. Azam Leng's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lamar Seng read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albert Butcher in the 63rd minute of play forced Husbands Bosworth's goalkeeper Zak Swee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zak Swee took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zafran Yip, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 71 minutes into the match, Newmarket's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Siang came free, but Lamar Seng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Siang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Lamar Seng tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Husbands Bosworth's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Azam Leng in the 77th minute. In the 80th play minute Victor Teo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Lamar Seng. 1-3. After 83 played minutes Newmarket got a freekick which was hit by Albert Butcher. Azam Leng sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th minute, Sajeev Leng left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newmarket fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. If Azam Leng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victor Teo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Lamar Seng tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
