Withington United's Johnathan Eslworth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afiq Phua in the 17th minute of play. After some careless play in the Withington United defense, Wei Xuan Chian kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Johnathan Eslworth. The Withington United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Johnathan Eslworth should have stopped the shot. Duncan Thornton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Bexhill on Sea booed when Withington United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zane Walker didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute, Afiq Phua got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 41 minutes of play, Bexhill on Sea's Afiq Phua made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Johnathan Eslworth was left in no man's land by his defense there! Johnathan Eslworth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afiq Phua in the 45th minute of play. Johnathan Eslworth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afiq Phua, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Duncan Thornton to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wei Xuan Chian got free with Johnathan Eslworth in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 60 minutes into the game, Afiq Phua lined in a short shot 0-3 behind a frustrated Johnathan Eslworth. Wayne Cambridge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
