Zafran Ching tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 8th minute, Thorne FC's Fariz Lum ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Zafran Ching. Zafran Ching yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Khairil Cho was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 16 minutes into the match. Khairil Cho hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Thorne FC's Ali Ramachandran shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 17th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Zafran Ching but with some difficulty. Zafran Ching made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ali Ramachandran in the 19th minute. Zafran Ching made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Hsi in the 30th minute of play. If Amir Tioe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Thorne FC booed when Stannington AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amirul Yeo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicholas Tan struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Ron Choy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stannington AFC. Amir Tioe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zafran Ching having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Amir Tioe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zafran Ching was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Zak Hee kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 67thth minute of the game Amir Tioe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stannington AFC's Zafran Ching was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 70th minute, Khairil Lee ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ron Choy was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Khairil Lee in the 75th minute of play forced Thorne FC's goalkeeper Ron Choy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Stannington AFC booed when Thorne FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amir Tioe didn't get a good kick on the ball. 80 minutes into the game, Samuel Hsi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Zafran Ching was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Zafran Ching didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ali Ramachandran went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amir Tioe in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zafran Ching saved Stannington AFC from getting behind. Zafran Ching came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Thorne FC's Ali Ramachandran. But to his dismay, Ali Ramachandran quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. After a defensive mix-up in Stannington AFC's zone, Fariz Lum stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zafran Ching came out of the goal and Fariz Lum tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thorne FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
