After having played for 9 minutes, Farhan Choo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 17th minute Ali Ramachandran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Azam Au saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Botley City getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Amirul Seah hit a great ball. Ali Ramachandran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Azam Au tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Amirul Seah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute, Amirul Seah reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ron Choy. The goal made the score 1-1. In the 42nd minute, Amirul Seah fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Thorne FC's Ron Choy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Thorne FC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Thorne FC booed when Botley City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Prime Lim didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amirul Seah made a kick off. When Amirul Seah was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 58 minutes had been played. The supporters of Thorne FC booed when Botley City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amirul Seah didn't get a good kick on the ball. Azam Au took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fariz Lum, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ali Ramachandran got free with Azam Au in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Botley City succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Thorne FC had controlled the match.
