Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Faiz Siang in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Shahiran Politiek prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Alif Ee fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bishop Auckland's protests and gave Alif Ee a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Bishop Auckland's Alif Ee got a free kick in the 4th minute. With an all-out effort, Bishop Auckland's Sean Sarangapani threw himself towards the right post 6 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lee Swee, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 8th of the match, Iskandar Shiong tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Sean Sarangapani got in the way and made a wonderful save. In the 11th minute Iskandar Shiong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sean Sarangapani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ron Ching got free with Sean Sarangapani in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Khai Tioe in the 16th minute of play forced Bishop Auckland's goalkeeper Shahiran Politiek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Bishop Auckland's goal looked a bit too open when Khai Tioe came free, but Shahiran Politiek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Malton booed when Bishop Auckland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alif Ee didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bineesh Paine kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Sean Sarangapani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lee Swee in the 30th minute of the match. Jithu Hongyi kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Malton's Sean Sarangapani proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Malton from getting a goal against them. Sean Sarangapani came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Bishop Auckland's Ron Ching. But to his dismay, Ron Ching quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 38 minutes into the game, Gabriel Hsin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Shahiran Politiek was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bishop Auckland's Mark Pillai got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Bishop Auckland's Alif Ee got a free kick in the 43rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Khai Tioe in the 47th minute of play forced Bishop Auckland's goalkeeper Shahiran Politiek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iskandar Shiong stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Malton getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Asiz Tan hit a great ball. 58 minutes into the match, Bishop Auckland's goalkeeper Shahiran Politiek had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Faiz Siang. If Khai Tioe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sarb Chong charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sarb Chong the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Bishop Auckland getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Sarb Chong hit a great ball. Shahiran Politiek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Faiz Siang in the 63rd minute. Sean Sarangapani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ron Ching in the 69th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Iskandar Shiong's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sean Sarangapani was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Iskandar Shiong took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sean Sarangapani. Sean Sarangapani dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 77th minute, Ron Ching got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sean Sarangapani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lee Swee, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sean Sarangapani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iskandar Shiong in the 84th minute of the match. Sean Sarangapani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mark Pillai, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Faiz Siangs short, quick shot in the 90thth minute got Shahiran Politiek to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Sean Sarangapani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lee Swee, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 93 minutes into the match, Bishop Auckland's goal looked a bit too open when Khai Tioe came free, but Shahiran Politiek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Shahiran Politiek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Khai Tioe in the 95th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Malton players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Bishop Auckland.
