But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Chian couldn't finish the play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Chian to make the kick off. The Ashington fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amirul Teo should have stopped the shot. After having played for 68 minutes, Bryan Rajah managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ashington's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bryan Rajah was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Beckermet United's Merlin Hoe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faizal Soon in the 69th minute of play. Daniel Chian's late challenge caught a Ashington's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ashington's Amirul Teo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Chian in the 86th minute of play. Hamir Au charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hamir Au the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Beckermet United fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 88th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Ashington a penalty, 89 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Faizal Soon, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Beckermet United's Merlin Hoe. 2-2.
