Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) In the 2nd minute, Mangotsfield's Gage Teo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Gage Teo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Mangotsfield protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gage Teo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to Mangotsfield getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Gage Teo hit a great ball. Faiz Sarangapani's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alex Lim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. Tan Tan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adam Lum in the 13th minute of the match. Adam Lum received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Tan Tan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Azam Tan got free with Tan Tan in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 23rd minute, Farhan Sim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Mangotsfield's Ang Lum got a free kick in the 27th minute. After 28 played minutes, Everton FC Singapore's Faiz Sarangapani shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alex Lim came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Everton FC Singapore reached it. Adam Lum fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tan Tan having to interfere. If Adam Lum had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Adam Lum managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mangotsfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Adam Lum was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tan Tan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tan Tan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Azam Tan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
52 minutes into the game, Khai Ning was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Everton FC Singapore's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mangotsfield the free kick. Khai Ning hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Tan Tan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Lum, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After 57 played minutes Everton FC Singapore got a freekick which was hit by Farhan Sim. In the 58th minute, Adam Lum left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mangotsfield fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amir Hsin in the 67th minute of play forced Mangotsfield's goalkeeper Alex Lim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Amir Hsin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alex Lim. That made the score 1-1 in the 69 minute of play. After having played for 72 minutes, Adam Lum managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mangotsfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adam Lum was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adam Lum received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Tan Tan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Everton FC Singapore to win.
