The referee showed Haziq Hian the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The tension between the Yaptoon and the Eltham players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 35th match minute, Yaptoon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Merlin Tee to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute, Clive Lee got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 42ndth minute of the game Amirul Tioe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Yaptoon's Faizal Lim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A hard shot 44 in the game by Wong Lum from a close distance when the talented Faizal Lim managed to make a qualified save. Yaptoon's players were relieved. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rifki Soon was the one to do the kick off. Clive Lee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Eltham booed when Yaptoon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gage Paine didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eltham's Amirul Tioe got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Faizal Lim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hidayat Tan in the 57th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wong Lum in the 60th minute of play forced Yaptoon's goalkeeper Faizal Lim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Eltham's goal looked a bit too open when Merlin Tee came free, but Jonathan Tian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute, Wong Lum left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Eltham fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Jonathan Tian was out of position in the 81 minute of play, and Haziq Hian capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Haziq Hian really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. After 84 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Eltham! Jonathan Tian went to the wrong direction when Bakar Laycock was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bakar Laycock in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Tian saved Eltham from getting behind. Faizal Lim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wong Lum in the 88th minute of the match. The supporters of Eltham booed when Yaptoon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gage Paine didn't get a good kick on the ball. 97 minutes into the match, Yaptoon's goal looked a bit too open when Wong Lum came free, but Faizal Lim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Eltham supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Yaptoon's performance. The match ended with a win for Yaptoon.
