Lee Lee came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Manchester United's Bryan Ramachandran. But to his dismay, Bryan Ramachandran quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Lee Lee showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bryan Ramachandran in the 14th minute of the match. Ali Artuner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steven Ramachandran in the 22nd minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Azam Chew had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lee Lee. Geylang River Otters's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Azam Chew was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Bryan Ramachandran blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lee Lee having to make a save. Lee Lee made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniz Keng in the 29th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steven Ramachandran in the 32nd minute of play forced Manchester United's goalkeeper Ali Artuner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ali Artuner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steven Ramachandran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Geylang River Otters fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when Geylang River Otters's Steven Ramachandran looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 39 minutes of play, Geylang River Otters's Steven Ramachandran made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ali Artuner was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Geylang River Otters booed when Manchester United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alam Lee didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 51st match minute, Geylang River Otters was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Steven Ramachandran to maneuver through the defense. 52 minutes into the match, Geylang River Otters's goal looked a bit too open when Azam Chew came free, but Lee Lee reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ali Artuner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stelian Iordache, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Ali Artuner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steven Ramachandran in the 57th minute of play. Lee Lee showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bryan Ramachandran in the 64th minute of the match. A collision led to Geylang River Otters getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Martin Lane hit a great ball. When Afiq Nair fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Manchester United's protests and gave Afiq Nair a yellow card for diving instead. In the 66th match minute, Manchester United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afiq Nair to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the match, Bryan Ramachandran dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lee Lee, 2-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alam Lee in the 73rd minute of play forced Geylang River Otters's goalkeeper Lee Lee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lee Lee showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bryan Ramachandran in the 74th minute of the match. Mark Phua might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ali Artuner. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mark Phua ran back to his position shaking his head. Lee Lee showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniz Keng, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Bryan Ramachandran could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Lee Lee made a huge save. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Manchester United eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
