The supporters of Albirex Niigata FC booed when Revengers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shahron Vijiaratnam didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 8 minutes Revengers's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Polo Maldini who took care of the corner kick. Albirex Niigata FC's 俞冰帆 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ioan Agachi in the 10th minute of play. Diego Belém's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Claudiu Leahu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Claudiu Leahu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aziz Vijiaratnam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Revengers's defense didn't have a chance, in the 20th minute, when Alexander Tan scored to the left of an out of position Claudiu Leahu, making the score, 1-0. Claudiu Leahu made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Diego Belém sent off a good shot on target. Anil Siong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. 俞冰帆 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diego Beléms short, quick shot in the 31stth minute got Claudiu Leahu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 38thth minute of the game Diego Belém who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Revengers's Claudiu Leahu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Claudiu Leahu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amir Pieng in the 40th minute. Clive Wah hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After 44 played minutes Revengers got a freekick which was hit by Clive Wah. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ioan Agachi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Revengers's zone, Mujahid Vijiaratnam stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudiu Leahu came out of the goal and Mujahid Vijiaratnam tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aziz Vijiaratnam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ioan Agachi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Revengers's Ioan Agachi got a free kick in the 65th minute. Amir Pieng sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diego Belém fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudiu Leahu having to interfere. After some careless play in the Revengers defense, Diego Belém kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claudiu Leahu. The Revengers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claudiu Leahu should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Per Gross in the 86th minute of play forced Revengers's goalkeeper Claudiu Leahu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute, Diego Belém got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Diego Belém fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudiu Leahu having to interfere. In the 94thth minute of the game Diego Belém who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Revengers's Claudiu Leahu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Diego Belém might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Claudiu Leahu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Diego Belém ran back to his position shaking his head. 96 minutes into the match, Albirex Niigata FC's Diego Belém sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Claudiu Leahu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Albirex Niigata FC had played much better football throughout.
