In the 18th match minute, Walshaw FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herbert Bandigas to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute, Gilbert Balabagan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute Fermin Cagungon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nimrod Paling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gilbert Balabagan came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Heckmondwike FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilbert Balabagan couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Walshaw FC's zone, Adam Tengco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isko Blas came out of the goal and Adam Tengco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gilbert Balabagan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 42nd minute Gilbert Balabagan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isko Blas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Heckmondwike FC's Nimrod Paling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fermin Cagungon in the 47th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 49th minute, Francis Lumbang managed to get in a good position for a shot. Walshaw FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Francis Lumbang was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nimrod Paling breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 67thth minute of the game Adam Tengco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Walshaw FC's Isko Blas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jovin Carungi during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
