Edsa Licuanan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elvin Casas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Darlington fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when Darlington's Elvin Casas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thomas Dalog got free with Edsa Licuanan in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thomas Dalog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edsa Licuanan having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, Darlington's goal looked a bit too open when Austin Bandigas came free, but Liberato Panaguinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A well placed Elvin Casas short distance shot in the 32nd minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. In the 35th minute, Heriberto Malayang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Congleton AFC's zone, Elvin Casas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edsa Licuanan came out of the goal and Elvin Casas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Michael Cabasug hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. In the 49th minute of the match Padi Madlangsakit shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edsa Licuanan showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The wind increased when Austin Bandigas made the kick off in the second half. After 56 minutes, Frank Mactal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Darlington and the Congleton AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Darlington getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Frank Mactal hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elvin Casas in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edsa Licuanan saved Congleton AFC from getting behind. Thomas Dalog recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thomas Dalog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edsa Licuanan having to interfere. In the 67th minute of the match, Frederico Pumaren tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Liberato Panaguinto saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Edsa Licuanan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Thomas Dalog had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Congleton AFC getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Gualterio Mellendrez hit a great ball. Heriberto Malayang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Liberato Panaguinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th minute of the match Mack Go sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Liberato Panaguinto skillfully saved the ball. With 93 minutes on the clock, Mack Go commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Heriberto Malayang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 100th minute of the match, but Liberato Panaguinto made a huge save. There was no doubt that Darlington were the better team. Darlington's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
