The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Steve Karo-karo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Candra Mulia in the 13th minute of the match. Steve Karo-karo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bento Subagdja, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rexy Romatua during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rexy Romatua hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 17th match minute, PSS Tjampea FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cecep Rai to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute, Cecep Rai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Candra Mulia charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Candra Mulia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of PSS Tjampea FC booed when Ciberecek was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Candra Mulia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rd minute, Bento Subagdja hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Jakob Hidayat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rexy Romatua was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Ciberecek's zone, Cecep Rai stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wahyu Ridliwan came out of the goal and Cecep Rai tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 52 minutes, Jakob Hidayat managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PSS Tjampea FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jakob Hidayat was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Steve Karo-karo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rexy Romatua in the 54th minute of play. PSS Tjampea FC's Steve Karo-karo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Djati Kaban in the 59th minute of play. If Jakob Hidayat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zulfikar Hans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wahyu Ridliwan having to interfere. 65 minutes into the match, Ciberecek's goal looked a bit too open when Jakob Hidayat came free, but Wahyu Ridliwan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, PSS Tjampea FC's goalkeeper Steve Karo-karo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bento Subagdja. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Candra Mulia took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Steve Karo-karo to make any attempt to save it. Steve Karo-karo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rexy Romatua in the 78th minute of play. Jakob Hidayat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. PSS Tjampea FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
