The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 minutes, Joshua Simanungkalit made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. PSM Kerteg's Heri Ie tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 6 played minutes PSM Kerteg got a freekick which was hit by Henry Muchtaji. Rexy Dewa might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Heri Ie. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rexy Dewa ran back to his position shaking his head. If Joshua Simanungkalit had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rexy Dewa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Heri Ie having to interfere. Andra Cahyono Putro might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Candra Sinuhaji. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andra Cahyono Putro ran back to his position shaking his head. 29 minutes into the match, Karayunan's Joshua Simanungkalit sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Heri Ie narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Candra Sinuhaji showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andra Cahyono Putro in the 31st minute of the match. Widodo Hans recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joshua Simanungkalit's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Heri Ie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Widodo Hans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Candra Sinuhaji having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andra Cahyono Putro was the one to do the kick off. Rexy Dewa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Rexy Dewa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Heri Ie. That made the score 0-2 in the 58 minute of play. PSM Kerteg's Widodo Hans got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joshua Simanungkalit might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Heri Ie. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joshua Simanungkalit ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Widodo Hans in the 71st minute of play forced Karayunan's goalkeeper Candra Sinuhaji to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rexy Dewa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Heri Ie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind PSM Kerteg's goalkeeper Heri Ie, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hendrawan Kaban hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. When Rexy Dewa came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Karayunan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rexy Dewa couldn't finish the play. Joko Mainaky's late challenge caught a Karayunan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joko Mainaky helped the player get up and apologised. If Rexy Dewa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the PSM Kerteg defense, Joshua Simanungkalit kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Heri Ie. The PSM Kerteg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Heri Ie should have stopped the shot.
