But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henry Budikusuma couldn't finish the play. Henry Budikusuma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Gendo Yarman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Widodo Piliang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henry Budikusuma in the 17th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Gendo Yarman fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Sangiran's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PSM Madawa the free kick. The supporters of PSM Madawa booed when Sangiran was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darius Aswin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Widodo Piliang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henry Budikusuma, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 44 minutes into the match, PSM Madawa's goalkeeper Widodo Piliang had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gendo Yarman. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Henry Budikusuma to make the kick off. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Widodo Piliang prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 74 minutes, Budi Ginting managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PSM Madawa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Budi Ginting was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 76th minute by Martin Haryanto got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Hardy Mulia kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Henry Budikusuma managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sangiran's supporters rose to their feet, but Henry Budikusuma was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Widodo Piliang breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gendo Yarman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. It was Romi Suprianto who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on PSM Madawa's corner Romi Suprianto fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Romi Sinambela quite easily take care of the ball. With a little luck, Sangiran's Romi Sinambela got control of the ball when Martin Haryanto tried to sneak it across the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the PSM Madawa players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sangiran.
