An unexpectedly hard shot by 汪霆建 in the 23rd minute of play forced 西部火箭's goalkeeper 郝坚升 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling 汪霆建 in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck 郝坚升 prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 林政誉 stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of 范德宽's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. If 汪霆建 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, 西部火箭's goal looked a bit too open when 汪霆建 came free, but 郝坚升 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 汪霆建 struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. 郝坚升 didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 河南济源市狼人联队. 沈亦昂 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 方辉伟 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 郝坚升 having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when 方辉伟 stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When 汪霆建 came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the 河南济源市狼人联队 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that 汪霆建 couldn't finish the play.
