The referee ignored 广西南珠队's protests and gave 程邦晨 a yellow card for diving instead. 温崇朗 hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 肖榕霖 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 彭梁南 in the 16th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in 香港观塘区骑兵联队's zone, 姜亦洋 stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. 钱晨川 came out of the goal and 姜亦洋 tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 28 minutes into the match, 姜亦洋 dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of 钱晨川, 2-1. 彭梁南's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but 肖榕霖 read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling 温崇朗 in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck 钱晨川 prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, 彭梁南 managed to get in a good position for a shot. 香港观塘区骑兵联队's supporters rose to their feet, but 彭梁南 was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. 肖榕霖 breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and 麦兴竞 made a kick off. 钱晨川 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 姜亦洋 in the 51st minute of play. After 52 played minutes 香港观塘区骑兵联队 got a freekick which was hit by 温建轩. 庄耀浩, 53 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 58th match minute, 广西南珠队 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 杜奕烽 to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 59 minutes, 许烽镇 managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 香港观塘区骑兵联队's supporters crossed their fingers, but 许烽镇 was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 姜亦洋 took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised 钱晨川. 钱晨川 dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when 彭梁南 got free with 肖榕霖 in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 73 minutes into the match, 彭梁南 notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of 广西南珠队's 肖榕霖. 肖榕霖 was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 许烽镇 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. 肖榕霖 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as 香港观塘区骑兵联队's 许烽镇 slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of 肖榕霖. That made the score 3-4 after 89 minutes of play. 92 minutes into the match, 许烽镇 dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of 肖榕霖, 3-5. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched 香港观塘区骑兵联队 eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
