Christopher Mccarthy's late challenge caught a Excelsior FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Christopher Mccarthy helped the player get up and apologised. Christopher Mccarthy hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Collingwood FC's zone, Rudy Oneill stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Burns Heys came out of the goal and Rudy Oneill tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With his leg Burns Heys managed to avoid a goal in the 9thth minute, when Excelsior FC's Grant Heberle fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Burns Heys came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Excelsior FC's Rudy Oneill. But to his dismay, Rudy Oneill quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Max Pearce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th minute of the match Drake Tarrant sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Reginald Mills skillfully saved the ball. Amos Batterham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Excelsior FC's Sabastian Pinhey got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Rudy Oneill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Burns Heys having to interfere. When Andy Crawford came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Excelsior FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andy Crawford couldn't finish the play. Rudy Oneill's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 29thth minute, Burns Heys skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 31 played minutes Collingwood FC got a freekick which was hit by Christopher Mccarthy. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rudy Oneill got free with Burns Heys in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Max Pearce came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Excelsior FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Max Pearce couldn't finish the play. Burns Heys made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rudy Oneill in the 39th minute. Grant Heberle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 41 minutes, Lewis Barling mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Collingwood FC and the Excelsior FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rudy Oneill got free with Burns Heys in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 45 minutes into the match, Collingwood FC's goalkeeper Burns Heys had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rudy Oneill. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rudy Oneill to strike the kick off in the second half. When Rudy Oneill came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Excelsior FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rudy Oneill couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Collingwood FC's Lewis Barling got a free kick in the 66th minute. Burns Heys took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rudy Oneill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute, Raymond Cubitt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rudy Oneill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Grant Heberle came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Excelsior FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Grant Heberle couldn't finish the play. In the 81st minute, Grant Heberle left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Excelsior FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Burns Heys took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rudy Oneill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th minute, Max Pearce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 92ndth minute of the game Rudy Oneill who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Collingwood FC's Burns Heys was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Excelsior FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
