Laurence Millar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duke Trims having to interfere. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Duke Trims prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Iggy Muncaster recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Portland's Duke Trims played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laurence Millar in the 26th minute of play. Andrew Keans short, quick shot in the 29thth minute got Neale Death to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Laurence Millar might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Duke Trims. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Laurence Millar ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Portland's Earle Quinane slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Neale Death. That made the score 1-0 after 34 minutes of play. Laurence Millar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iggy Muncaster struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Duke Trims didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bungasaaree. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Laurence Millar to make the kick off. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Duke Trims, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 75th minute, Hale Pearman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 78 played minutes, Bungasaaree's Benny Thorne shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Duke Trims came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bungasaaree reached it. Bungasaaree's Neale Death played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrew Kean in the 81st minute of play. Antonio Smalley hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Neale Death took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Earle Quinane, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
